
George Town Revitalization Initiative: Road Closure of Edwards Street, George Town

The George Town Revitalization Initiative and the Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport, and Development (PAHITD) wish to advise the public of a road closure implemented to facilitate essential works as part of the George Town Revitalization Initiative (GTRI).
The road closure will affect Edward Street from 6:00 PM on January 29, 2025, until 6:00 AM on February 5, 2025. Local access will be permitted at the junction of Shedden Road and Edward Street, and two-way traffic will be available on Main Street starting January 29, 2025.
As the revitalization of Central George Town approaches its final stages, the Ministry and GTRI express heartfelt gratitude to the public for their patience and unwavering support throughout this journey. With the project nearing completion, the enhanced spaces will soon be ready for everyone to enjoy.
